Judith Leiber Night is classified as an Oriental Woody Scent, but it is not so “woody” as to make it masculine.  The notes (not that it really matters) are bergamot, black cinnamon and peonies while night blooming jasmine is deepened by the addictive Oriental notes of amber, patchouli and creamy woods.  Incense gives the fragrance its special dry down. This is not an “amber” fragrance but the amber does gives it depth.  This scent is just as sexy wearing jeans with tall black boots as it is for an evening out.  I do not consider this scent to be a strictly “night time” fragrance, but it rich and sexy and could be worn during the day if you want an “edge” on a cold winter day or indoors sitting by the fire at a ski resort.

“The scent was created by juxtaposing the drama of the handbag design with the absolute luxury that Judith Leiber stands for,” said Theo Spilka of Firmenich. “To illustrate these notes of sensual luxury, Richard used the highest extracted qualities of night blooming jasmine, peony, patchouli and amber materials among the spiciness of lilies, incense and a creamy wood accord”.

Judith Leiber Night’s radiant essence is presented in a black-as-night Art Deco opaque glass flacon embedded with sparkling Swarovski crystal stones.  Judith Leiber Night is also perfect for the upcoming holiday season, where you can give or own a little piece of Judith Leiber creation.  Four stars.

It has been said that Judith Leiber is the “Queen of the Minaudière”.   She is an American icon and her name is synonymous with the brand she created for her handbag products dating as far back as the 1950’s.  Her creations are always covered in crystals and are adored by women of all ages.  I’ve owned a Judith Leiber item for years, a bright red crystal heart-shaped pill box that was purchased by my husband on a wild weekend in Las Vegas.

The inspiration for her new fragrance, Judith Leiber Night, was drawn from her famous and classic, Judith Leiber Black Deco handbag.   The rich fragrance was developed by Perfumer Richard Herpin of Firmenich, who also created Tom Ford Private Blend Oud WoodBadgely Mischka and Bond No. 9 Coney Island, to name just a few.

Night perfume is a fragrance that I fell in love with. I normally never wear "designer" fragrances but this one intrigued me. Night is an opulent and rich oriental fragrance with a modern twist.  It smells like “Hollywood Glamour” on me and radiates a rich exotic Oriental essence.  It’s sexy and I get a ton of compliments when people smell it on me.  When I wear Night, I get the sense that there is a starry luxurious cloak wrapped around me. It creates a feeling and an aura of being "warm and sensual".  Oriental fragrances seem to have that affect on me.
